And then last night, we went bowling. With buy-one-get-one-free coupons, we spent a couple hours at our local bowling ally where we found out that none of us are instant bowling celebrities. :) After our games were up, we stopped to grab milkshakes and fries, Katheryn bought food for a homeless family and I left my camera there. Yup, I did. Ten points from Gryffindor. Walked out of that place, leaving my camera bag in all it's pricey glory on the table. Excuse me why I grab an inhaler just thinking about it. After a drive home, a frantic search of the car and an even more frantic (and perhaps slightly maniacal but don't judge) drive back, I was miraculously reunited with my camera. Thank God (no, really, thank God) for honest people who see expensive camera equipment just sitting at an empty table and actually turn it in to lost & found.
So our fun evening ended well after all.
How fun! I am most definitely not an expert bowler (I've probably only gone handful of times and most of those times were when I was in elementary school!) but it's always fun to hang out with loved ones--no matter what the activity is! I'm glad you got to hang out with your family + that your siblings are coming back! :)
ReplyDeletep.s. So very grateful for those kind people who returned your camera to the lost and found! Just another sign of all the good that is around us.
Oh, and I would definitely be frantic if I lost (or even misplaced!) my camera. Seriously, as I'm typing this up, it's sitting literally inches from my hands. :)
Same here, Kiki! I've only bowled a handful of times. I enjoy it, but I definitely wont be like that group of old people who were seriously bowling it up down the alley. :D
DeleteAmen and a million extra amens! I really was bracing myself for the camera being long gone, since that's the norm around here. But wow, the Lord really did watch over it for me, even before I realized it was gone and started praying like the world was ending.
Haha, camera always at the ready! :D
I love bowling! I'm pretty bad at it though, but it's fun anyway! Now, I'm an A+ computer bowler on the other hand, I could beat most anyone at a computer bowling challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable by the way! =)
Haha, you go, you! It was fun and we'll go again after Scott and Karis get back, since they've never gone before.
DeleteAh, gee, thanks! That yellow dress was one of my winter favorites, since I don't generally wear shorter dresses and it worked perfectly with leggings and boots. But of course, not in the summer. Then the inspiration came to wear it with skinny jeans and my life was changed. :D
Love these pictures! I love fun little family outtings like these. I am an awfulllll bowler and used to hate it, but I'm trying to change my attitude lately because my husband loves it!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a great reason to try and learn to love it! Yah, I definitely was having a lot of gutter balls...oh well. I never wanted to be a pro-bowler, so heh, who cares. ;)
DeleteLooks like a rocking good time! :)
ReplyDeleteWe had a ball! Pun definitely intended. :)
DeleteI love sibling outings like these--& they're especially great when one or more is missing! My youngest siblings & I went out to the movies to see Epic a few weeks ago when Sara was gone working & Mum & Dad were out to dinner. It.Was.EPIC. And fun. Drove through a monsoon to the mall less than 10minutes away, bought expensive theater candy as a treat for them...& popcorn for moi. <3
ReplyDeleteI love bowling--though I do stink at it. {*cough* Even with bumpers up...} But it's SO much fun!! Glad ya'll had a wonderful time...minus the camera scare! Yee-ikes...I would've LOST it had that happened to me! Heck, I lost it when I couldn't find my keyring the other night!
Yay! You saw Epic! I still want to catch that one before it leaves the theater! And wow, what a crazy drive in crazy weather, but what a motivation - theater candy and popcorn! I love going to the theater. It's so relaxing and fun. My sister and I are going to go see Monsters U next week. Just for fun, haha. ;)
DeleteYay for bowling! I haven't been bowling in years, but I've been trying to convince my friends to go with me one of these days...I'm terrible at bowling, but it's always so fun. And I know it sounds weird, but I think that bowling shoes are the most comfortable things on earth. :P
ReplyDeleteWhew...what a blessing someone turned in your camera stuff! That must have been so scary! I once left my camera at a restaurant in Oregon, and I didn't even realize it until we got home. Luckily, since my aunt and uncle were going to Oregon that week, they were able to swing by and pick it up for me. I haven't left my camera anywhere since then!

Ah, nobody will go with you? That's sad! And now that you mention it...the shows WERE really comfortable! :D
DeleteWow, what a blessing that you were able to get your camera back, too! It's so scary, isn't it?
