After a morning rearranging the furniture in our room with my two sisters (usually a bi-annual event) , I spent the afternoon in a movie theatre with my friends cherry coke and popcorn, since I figured no other mature adult would want to go see Percy Jackson with me. Hey, they were great books, I have to keep giving the movies a chance! It was a strange experience going to the movies all by my lonesome, but I did have the theatre almost all to myself.
Whereupon coming home, I grabbed the camera and enjoyed a half-hour outside in the beautiful weather. With three more hours yet 'til my early bedtime, it's been a great day off.
aw, neat. sounds like a wonderful day, Kellie. great way to spend a day off. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was really lovely!
Deletewhat an awesome way to spend your day off!!! I love quiet time and relaxation on a day off :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely try and make either the whole day or at least a portion of the day "mandatory" relaxation time! Since I don't have a normal weekend anymore, with working a shift schedule, I have to remember that one of those off days is actually my "Sunday" and I need to make sure I get some down time in!
DeleteAhhh--I would have gone to see Percy Jackson with you! Was it good?
ReplyDeleteOff days are the best...I'm off from nannying tomorrow, and while I love the kids, it will be SO nice to be able to rest and just do stuff.(:

Ah, thanks, Vicki, I'd have LOVED that!
DeleteYou know...it could have been better. It's a hard book series to capture, since (somewhat like Harry Potter) it's somewhat serious events with a lot of "goofiness" that is well-played and humorous in the books, but when transferred into a movie...just comes across at absurd. I think the original Percy movie was better than Sea of Monsters, but I still enjoyed myself. :)
Days off are THE best. I have Tuesday's off of classes this semester, and although I do mostly homework on those days, it's nice to sleep in a little, catch up on some TV, or have the extra time on my hands. Glad you enjoyed it! :)
ReplyDeleteOh how nice to have Tuesday's off, Julie! Even just knowing that you can sleep in a little goes a looong way! :D
DeleteGoing to the movies alone is awesome. It just feels like such an independent thing to do! Glad you had a fun day off to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt was very strange, but in a solitary way, I did enjoy it!! :D
DeleteDays off are seriously the best. I love just relaxing!
ReplyDeleteOh me, too, me too!! :D
DeleteI'm glad you had a wonderful off day! And I love your B&W pictures here. You and my sister Amy would be best friends, she dearly loves reading the Percy Jackson series :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brea! I used to heartily despise black and white photos, thinking that they lacked character, but recently...I've come to view them as quite the opposite and now have to restrain myself from hitting that black and white button in Lightroom.
DeleteHehe, yay for Amy! I really love children's fantasy books! Percy Jackson, Gregor the Overlander, Harry Potter...love 'em. :)
I would have gone to Percy Jackson with you! Heck, I don't care what movie it was, I would have gone just to be with you :)
ReplyDeleteI love the black & white theme you did with your pictures!
Ah, thanks, Madison!! I'd have loved the company and I would so totally have gotten my free upgrade on popcorn just so I could share it with you. :D
