But whereas life may not be one long reading extravaganza, it's still been pretty quiet. Except for a few hair-raising and emotionally murderous babysitting adventures,* there's been a pretty even keel happening in my life. No job yet, but all things in God's timing. So, you'll have to forgive the slowness of the blog these days. When the blog slows down, it just means that life has slowed down and there's just not a lot out of the ordinary to post about.
And so, in four simple photos, here is my day.
Food.
The Word.
A little boy too small for dining room tables.
A silly girl who keep me laughing all the time.
* The traumatic babysitting alluded to above has nothing to do with the sweet children in this post. Those two have never given me a seconds trouble in all the hours I've spent babysitting them. Yes, M & K, you can be proud. :)
"Emotionally murderous." I LIKE that. I might use that. Reminiscent of what an old roommate used to say, "I hate it with a passion that burns deep within my heart." *shrug*
ReplyDeleteHehe, go for it. :0
DeleteThat's how life has been for me lately, too. I've been spending some pretty quiet days at home, and haven't felt much inspiration coming to me. I've learned it's okay to take it easy on the blogging!
ReplyDeleteP.S.- I love eggs cooked into toast like that. Best breakfast ever!
We always called them "Egg-in-the-Bread," usually said as one drawn-out word. :D
DeleteAnd I'm glad I'm not the only one without blog inspiration! I usually have more stuff to post about than time to do it in...but not right now. ;)
Haha, your description of babysitting seems very accurate. I babysit for my aunt and uncle fairly often, and they have five boys and one girl, and while they're the sweetest things and I love them all to bits, babysitting them can definitely reach the level of emotionally murderous at times!

Agreed!! Some kids are SO easy to watch, while others? A completely different story! Babysitting really isn't something that I enjoy at all, unless it's my own nieces and nephews, but if it's what is going to be paying my bills? I'll do it. :)
Delete"All things in God's timing." What a beautifully written truth, Kellie! I am continually learning this everyday and it's such a nice treat to be reminded of it in the blogworld, too.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I am in love with your photos! Please can we take photos together sometime?
Thirdly, I love the photo of your Bible. There's something about Bibles that have underlined, highlighted, or starred passages in it that makes me smile (not in a weird, creeper way, but in a the Word is so amazing kind of way. Hopefully you felt the latter of the two when reading this). ;)
And quiet days. I have a lot of those, too. Sometimes I hope and pray for more exciting days, but then I'm reminded that maybe these quiet days are just preparation for something bigger and better.
p.s. When we get together we have got to share babysitting stories. Babysitting is ALWAYS a new + exhausting adventure!
Yes!! I'm going to add "Take photos with Kiki" to my bucket list! :D
DeleteYes, I'm a pretty firm believer in marking up my bible while I read, it's almost like a "secret journal" within the pages. I also like to write dates next to whatever I'm scribbling in there, so that I can go back years later and see what God was teaching me. I found one today from back in January 2008, over five years ago! :D
Out of curiosity, where did you get your bible? Mine is literally falling apart!
ReplyDeleteHi, Christie!! I like the sound of a falling apart bible. :)
DeleteActually, mine was given to me years ago via the ministry that I was a part of at the time. It's an ESV Classic Thinline Edition, if that helps. :)
Sometimes the simple, daily posts are the best. I love the first image! And aren't your nieces and nephews so much fun to photograph? I love taking pictures of ours!
ReplyDeleteThey are!! When they'll stay still, that is. Pictures of their smiling faces are usually among my favorites in any photo collection. :)
DeleteI have had a few disastrous babysitting experience. One involving 5 little boys who weren't allowed to eat candy and one of them locking himself in the bathroom with a gingerbread house!!!!! His brother ended up unscrewing the door hinges and reassured me that they do that all the time... Yikes. Needless to say, I was never invited back after the parents discovered the demolished house and one crazy kid with a sugar high.
