Thursday ~ Don't.Stop.Believing. (Wk. 2)

{some of us being us - this is why it's hard to leave home, ya'll!}

--------------------

I believe that Robert Pattinson is not handsome.
I believe men aren't the only ones who should have hairless upper lips.  Eight years of waxing backin' me up.
I believe in long, quiet walks in cemeteries.
I believe in music turned up loud enough to dance to.
I believe that thigh-high shorts for men is a fashion trend that should have staid in the 80's.
I believe in sitting on porch swings to watch life go by for a little while.
I believe in Merlin quotes.
I believe in my brother, who is a beast with power tools.
I believe in old books, old pictures, and old cars.
I believe in having two best friends as house-mates.
I believe in never sleeping in an unmade bed.
I believe there should be a law against breathing out of your mouth after eating peanut butter.
I believe in at least three slices of peperoni pizza.
I believe in not playing any board game that last longer than my twenty minute game-attention span.
I believe in sweet potato fries, especially when they're dipped in nacho cheese.

Tell me what you're believing' in today!

  1. Haha...the first one. I totally agree! I'm glad I'm not the only one.
And I suppose today I believe in packing for a weekend trip to see my family where all my sisters will be together for the first time in long time! Yay!

    1. Haha! Every time I see his pasty vampirey face on posters (not having seen the movies, of course!) I just wonder to myself WHY...even when non-vampired up, there's still a huge gap between him and what I consider to be good looking! :D

Yay! I'm so glad you get to spend time with all your sisters!! I know how close you all are! I'm sure there will be many new B. family adventures! :)

  2. I love porch swings! Actualllllly the first time I told my now-husband I loved him was sitting on my parents' porch swing. :) So special! Todayyyyyy I believe that every girl needs a girl's night out once in awhile. Mine will be Saturday and I can't wait!

    1. *high five back!* Nope! I'm really just not! I like Risk and Settlers...but they last SOOOOO long that I just can't handle it anymore! Concept of it? Yes. Time it takes to play? No. So I just say no when someone asks me to play...because I know that after 20 minutes, I'm gonna be getting impatient and then the games not going to be fun for everyone if my hearts not in it! :)

  4. I think you just summed up my life! :) Especially the part about pizza...2 (and sometimes 3) slices are never enough!

  5. YES to that first "believe," Kellie! You are a kindred spirit, m'dear. :)

    That photo is precious. :)

    1. Kindred spirit, indeed! I always involuntarily grimace at his Twilight photos - I fear pasty white skin and bloodshot eyes do nothing to help along his looks! :D

I rather like that picture myself. :)

  7. Okay, you're going to think I'm absolutely crazy but I'm gonna say this anyway. Did you know that you spelled "y'all" wrong? I know, I know. I'm silly for noticing. But you really did! Not sure whether it was intentional or a mistake. If just a mistake, then completely ignore everything I've said so far! But if intentional, then the apostrophe goes right after the "y". I lived in the south for 20 some years, so pretty sure I'm right. But pleasedon'thatemeforpointingitout! *cowers behind her computer screen, then slowly peeks out* Do you still like me? Please say yes! Pretty please?

Anyway, moving on. I absolutely believe in porch swings!! Awesome invention! And I believe in all kinds of old things, people included. Some of my favorite conversations have been with people from my grandparents generation. They really do have the best stories to share! :) Must also mention, that I'm not a game person in general. Like you, my attention only lasts for 20 to 30 minutes and then I'm done. I'm a great cheerleader while watching though! I can always watch and join in the conversation. I'm really much better at that than the game playing, trust me.

    1. Okay, I've sat here analyzing how I usually spell "y'all" and I can't for the life of me decide whether I just typo'd or if that's how I've always spelled it...because, yes! Having the apostrophe after the "y" is correct, since it's conjunction and the apostrophe always come at the split...either way, of COURSE I'm not angry (haha!) and thank you for pointing that out! Words of a friend. :)

I love old people, too! I wonder if humor also develops with age, because I have met some truly hysterically delightfully funny older people and I just love talking to them! I also love hearing their stories, it's so sad to think that, with them, so much of life is being lost. I wish so much that I'd been able to listen more to my Grandma's stories before she died. She had so many stories to tell!

    2. Oh I know exactly what you mean! I so wish I had spent more time learning my grandma's stories too. I know there are so many that I never learned and now it's too late. I've decided I need to do better with my own parents and not regret after they're gone.

Have you ever typed something, then proofread, said "okay, looks good.", posted it, then read it again, then wondered what on earth you were thinking when you typed that?!, then wanted to delete and start over but then remember that Kellie will be able to tell you deleted it and then you'd feel embarrassed, so you end up leaving it and still feeling embarrassed regardless? Yeah, that was my quandary the last time I commented up there. SO glad you didn't mind my ridiculous teacher/grammar tendencies! :)
