Wednesday | Chillin' On My Off Day

I woke up at 8am, after waking up at 5:15am wherein I gleefully reminding myself that it wasn't time to get up and go to work. I wasted the day for about fifteen minutes lounging in bed (a must of any off day, even if just a few minutes) then decided an off day, after all, is too lovely to spend too much time in bed. Especially this time of year, when morning are especially wonderful and just beg to be enjoyed.

After a morning rearranging the furniture in our room with my two sisters (usually a bi-annual event) , I spent the afternoon in a movie theatre with my friends cherry coke and popcorn, since I figured no other mature adult would want to go see Percy Jackson with me. Hey, they were great books, I have to keep giving the movies a chance! It was a strange experience going to the movies all by my lonesome, but I did have the theatre almost all to myself.

Whereupon coming home, I grabbed the camera and enjoyed a half-hour outside in the beautiful weather. With three more hours yet 'til my early bedtime, it's been a great day off.

    1. I definitely try and make either the whole day or at least a portion of the day "mandatory" relaxation time! Since I don't have a normal weekend anymore, with working a shift schedule, I have to remember that one of those off days is actually my "Sunday" and I need to make sure I get some down time in!

  3. Ahhh--I would have gone to see Percy Jackson with you! Was it good?
Off days are the best...I'm off from nannying tomorrow, and while I love the kids, it will be SO nice to be able to rest and just do stuff.(:

    1. Ah, thanks, Vicki, I'd have LOVED that!

You know...it could have been better. It's a hard book series to capture, since (somewhat like Harry Potter) it's somewhat serious events with a lot of "goofiness" that is well-played and humorous in the books, but when transferred into a movie...just comes across at absurd. I think the original Percy movie was better than Sea of Monsters, but I still enjoyed myself. :)

  4. Days off are THE best. I have Tuesday's off of classes this semester, and although I do mostly homework on those days, it's nice to sleep in a little, catch up on some TV, or have the extra time on my hands. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

    1. Thanks, Brea! I used to heartily despise black and white photos, thinking that they lacked character, but recently...I've come to view them as quite the opposite and now have to restrain myself from hitting that black and white button in Lightroom.

Hehe, yay for Amy! I really love children's fantasy books! Percy Jackson, Gregor the Overlander, Harry Potter...love 'em. :)
