Monday ~ Tea Time

Being the all-things-English lover than I am, there is just something magical at the thought of drinking tea. It sounds warm, cozy and altogether comforting. Tea drinking is becoming something of a fad right now and seeing so much tea related pins on Pinterest, I just thought that I really should give tea a try. I grabbed a tea bag labeled “Vanilla Chai” as I ran out the door to work today. I happily anticipated just that right moment when I’d prepare what I knew was going to be a real tasty cup of tea. I mean, with a tea with the scrumptious name of “Vanilla Chai,” what’s not to be good about it? I steeped my tea bag, added some milk and sugar, settled back down into my office chair with some Celtic Woman playing in the background. Really, it was the perfect moment.

Unfortunately, not all things go as planned.

Make that an ixnay on the tea-drinking thing...

  2. Ha! You so cute, girl! Sometimes I do tea but my loyalties will be with my beloved coffee for the most part. But don't give up on tea altogether! There are many options out there. Try a different creamer or something. I like just plain Lipton Tea with hazelnut creamer and sugar.

  3. I'm super picky about my chai and have yet to find a bag/milk/sweetner combo I can steep at home that gets me that silky smooth, spicy, honey sweet milky goodness I can get say at Panera Bread (best restaurant EVER by the way) or Starbucks!
You should give another tea flavor a chance, the Candy Cane tea at Trader Joes is my favorite!

  4. There's an art to making a good chai. :) When done right it can taste like a creamy autumn latte. I hadn't quite perfected it the last time I tried to make it at home, but I'd be up to another round of attempts. ~ Kristine

  5. KatySue- YES! That silky "silky smooth, spicy, honey sweet milky goodness" is sorta what I was imagining!! I can see now that I perhaps just really didn't know what I was doing! :)

Kristine- Yay!! Your first comment. :) I obviously do not have a natural flare for the "art". I fear I shall need "tudiledge." I think a beverage day is STILL very much in order!! Maybe a hot drinks/holiday movie day? :)

  6. Vanilla chai sounds delish, Kellie. I am a tea-drinker at heart (and actually just finished a steaming cup of green tea). My family is all die-hard coffee drinkers and are convinced that I will become a convert by the time I finish school, but I'm almost ready to graduate and still love me some tea!

Yeah, those vanilla chai teas are lame. Have you tried apple spice tea?
