Friday ~ All the Single Ladies Tag

My dear friendie & budding authoress Meghan from Just As I Am is hosting a Valentine's Blog Party and so, in support of Meghan and because I have a weakness for these taggy things...here's my go at her questions!

All the Single Ladies Blog Party Tag

1. White chocolate or milk/dark chocolate?
I gravitate towards milk chocolate, although if I’m going to be going crazy eating lots of chocolate, I’ll take more of a slightly darker variety. White chocolate is only good in cookies (specifically, lemon & white chocolate chip cookies! The BEST cookie I have EVER eaten, and honey, I’ve eaten a few in my lifetime…)

2. Tea or Coffee?
I only like tea cold and sweet (I’ve got a few hidden southern bones in my body), so I have to say coffee, even though I don’t actually like the pure taste of just coffee. I’m more of a milked-up-with-chocolate-and-caramel kind of coffee drinker!

3. Movie or book on a night-in?
Impossible to answer, since I love both! I’m a book reading lunatic, but I also love curling up in front of a good movie or tv show!

4. Rom-com or a tear-jerker?
Hard to say…I like them both in their place. Since a lot of rom-com’s start getting dirty (why can’t movie makers separate “comedy” and “dirty?”), there’s only a few out there that I honestly like all the way through. And as far as tear-jerkers…it HAS to have a happy ending and there CAN’T be a good guy who doesn’t get the heroine because she picked the hero, even when that's exactly what I wanted her to do. I'm the girl usually crying for the guy left behind...and yes, I'm the one who feels sorry for Willowby since, although rake and libertine that he is...he didn't get the girl he really truly did love...

5. Who is the first literary couple to come to your mind?
I have to say Anne Shirley & Gilbert Blythe, BUT that’s tricky – since I only really like them in the movie! I’m more of an Emily of New Moon series girl rather than Anne of Green Gables series fan. But the Anne & Gilbert in the movies are my favorites.

6. Who is the first *movie* couple that comes to your mind?
I would probably say Anne & Gilbert but that just sounds dreadfully redundant! Then I’d say “Mr. Thornton & Margaret Hale,” but I know I only think of them next because I read several other girls quiz’s and that’s what they said….so here’s the answer from my Disnley-lovin’ heart: Giselle & Edward from Enchanted. *cheers*

7. Roses or chocolate?
The romantic in me says roses, but then there's that stomach part of me that says I'd rather have something useful (ie. edible) like chocolate, instead of roses that just sit there. Moral? Any guy who wants to impress me should just get me both and cover both bases. *wink & a grin*

8. Fancy dinner in a 4-star restaurant or a simple picnic?
Blaaah, I must confess to being very adverse to fancy restaurants (although I can say that I ate in the ridiculously fancy restaurant inside the Grand Hotel on Macinaw Island…in jeans and a hoodie noless, hehe!). I’m way more of a burger & fries kind of girl. If I’m paying for food, I want it to be a lot of food, hearty and filling…whereas fancy restaurants charge you an arm, leg or first-born child for only a small portion of food.

9. Dream wedding scenario:
I’d rather be married inside a church, with reception out behind the barn behind our house, decorated with white lights, Chinese lanterns and bunting. But if I couldn’t find just the right church that met all the requirements (good lighting for photography, central entrance door, enough seating, nice carpet, etc), I’d just do the whole kit’n’caboodle out behind the barn. Then my cats can be there, too.

10. What was the last love song you listened to?
Thanks to my Disney Pandora station crooning in the background, “A Whole New World” from Aladdin. Not exactly a love song, but it’s the moment they fell in love song!

11. Favorite real-life/celebrity couple?
I don’t keep up with celebrities much, since they always disappoint me…but I did kinda go “aaah” when I heard that “Snow” & “Charming” from Once Upon a Time were really together. I just hope they don’t break up until after they finish filming all the seasons they plan to make, because that would be goodbye, chemistry.

12. One piece of advice about love:
It’s absolutely wonderful.  Humbling, revealing, hard…but wonderful. *smile*
(and if you're suddenly wondering, no, I do not have anybody nor am I interested in anybody, either)

  1. This is so fun! Love seeing all the link-ups for Meghan. :)

Like you, Kellie, I always feel bad for the good guy who is dumped even though we *know* the girl will pick the "other guy" each time. :)

  3. Rissi: I know it! Meghan has had quite the success with this tag! I'm glad I'm not the only girl who has huge sympathy for the guy who gets left behind...I used to think it was just part of the romance, but the older I get, the more I realize how much it hurts to love someone without hope and I just hate it when there's that third guy!! He always gets my sympathy! :D

Brea: Hehe, I still have pictures from that crazy day!! Remember how unhumanly cold it was waiting for the ferry?? Matthew so graciously gave me his extra hoodie (yeah, I was wearing like at least two - what a crazy bunch of vagrants we looked like that day!!!). Ah fun times! I wish I could remember more of it all - that's the sad thing about traveling with LA: we saw SO many important and big places, but I remember so little of it!!

  4. I might to to join in on this tag as I am gloriously single right now! ;-)

Your wedding sounds just about perfect, I love barns and twinkling lights!

Someone needs to tell Hollywood you can have a funny movie with making it dirty, I think they've forgotten!

  5. I totally agree with you on the fancy restaurant-thing. I'm definitely too cheap to spend money on something small. Plus, I love simple and laidback outings and celebrations. Your wedding ideas sound lovely as well! I may be a little biased though, because I love white lights and definitely think about natural lighting for photography, too!

  6. "it HAS to have a happy ending and there CAN’T be a good guy who doesn't get the heroine because she picked the hero, even when that's exactly what I wanted her to do" -- YESSSS!!!! And YES I cried about Willoughby as well (at least sniffed) -- but I always cry more about poor Colonel Brandon (omw, runner up for favorite character couple?). The underdog 3rd wheel (well...if we're talking about a bicycle?)always get my pity!!! OK, agree about the wedding reception as well. And WOW...why did I not think of Margaret and Thornton??? I LOVE THEM! Ok. Good stuff. I'll stop talking now.
