Mary

And Mary said, "I am the maidservant of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to Thy will."

The two Mary's in the bible are my biblical role models: Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mary who did that which was most needful (listening to Jesus) and who later washed Jesus's feet. The figurine of Mary is always my favorite in any nativity. I know that she was merely a human like us and should not be elevated to any form of sacredness or sainthood, but the qualities she possesses, shown in the Scriptures, are qualities I desire so much to have in my own life. Obedience, reverence, humility, responsibility, and heart fully devoted to the Lord.

"My soul magnifies the Lord, for He that is mighty has done great things...and worthy is His name."
